Today I have been looking into animal therapy especially cats and dogs, it’s lovely how having pet can really help the development of social skills in children with autism, I have read a lot of articles and in 2 thirds of cases animals have dramatically over the long run had a profound effect on the child’s social skills and eye contact.
It definitely has impacted my brothers life since getting the cats, he is more caring and wants to contribute to looking after the cats which he never felt the need when he had fish, he didn’t batter an eyelid when they died, poor things but he absolutely loves the cats and wants to spend as much time with them as possible. So the link is nice to see.
I finished another page with the help of Andy Jones who gave me some pointers about my shadows and silhouettes. I wanted to play around with negative and positive space, I put the shadows of people on a low opacity so they could be transparent but Andy suggested having a full coloured silhouette. It defiantly added confusion, it also played with emotions which is what I was going for. Quite dark and upsetting.
I have added more texture and tried the grunge filter which doesn’t look too nifty, suits the theme which falls into most of the pages I have created so far. Really like this DPS at the minute.
