The word Profound to me means a lot of things I have split it up but I think it means having a deep insight into something.
I first researched the basic meanings of what the word means. I found out it can be used to explain a person or situation that has or holds a lot of knowledge or intelligence. E.g like a profound philosopher. Its some thing, or one full of insight in a situation.
I used a number of Thesaurus sites to try and find a similar explanation of the word.
It can also be used to described the ocean as profound is also a word to describe something deep or the bottom of something! It can be something that can be intense or emotional, its a state, quality, and emotion.
It can be used to describe certain types of illnesses for example, a disease or disability that is very severe: A case of profound liver failure.
Its crazy how many different users for the word is used for! It can be used to measure quality, someones work could be called amazing and profound, if its seen in such a sense. Famous people over History have and can de described as this word and so can there quotes!
From everything I have looked at my conclusion is that the word means something that is deep and can hold emotion or a statement.
