1880-1889

1880-1889, this was the Post Impressionism Art Movement.
I wasn’t in during this lecture so I have had to do research this time by myself. Which isn’t so bad! This was a soft revolt against impressionism. Many artists known in this period were, Van Gogh, Gauguin, Cezanne, and Seurat. I also have looked at Paul Cezanne and Gustave Moreau. I like this movement as its different from other movements, it broke free from naturalism. It broke down structure of paintings. Many people did not like this style as it was new and very different! This movement really expressed emotions in the paintings rather than simple straight forward optical impressions. The paints had a deeper meaning, and this is one of the reasons I really liked it. It had a story behind it following how the artist felt.
